Undeterred by my somewhat foreign understanding of Scottish culture, I have brought a wealth of experience and determination to my work in Glasgow since relocating to the city over two years ago. Toward the end of November 2011, I graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Master’s Degree in the History of Art. Following the completion of my Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism during 2009, the decision to pursue this postgraduate degree was made with the goal of increasing my knowledge in modern, twentieth century art culture and my aptitude in writing for a mainstream art culture. While studying Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida, I perfected the professional skills of writing copy, editing news stories, designing print layouts, and producing digital photography to accompany magazine and newspaper stories.
Throughout the course of these studies, I have also been developing a set of strong, creative, and intellectual abilities focusing on the professional qualities of accuracy, organization, journalistic and media-tailored communication, artistic knowledge, and self-motivated ambition. My desire to pursue a career in journalism has grown immensely as my interest in educating and informing a larger public for a greater need has developed. I have gained notable experience through working in several internships within the fields of newspaper media, editorial magazines, public relations, museums, and galleries. Each internship provided experience working independently and as part of a team, both with which I am very comfortable.
I am constantly inspired by the evolution of contemporary entertainment, media, fashion, and art. The creative arousal of cultural observation expresses itself through my photography and writing. This collection of experience proves rewarding as I seek fresh ideas and concepts for all future creative endeavors.
